Hello Ambitious Guitar Students—

First of all, thanks for taking enough interest in who we are to click on a social media ad. I know the online guitar education space is a bit of a hellscape, so I would not blame you for harboring some skepticism.

Everywhere you scroll there's another guru pushing a "revolutionary system" or "magic formula." It's exhausting and disingenuous.

Sprinkle in a few neuroscience buzzwords ("Guitar Lessons, Now with Biohacking!") and you've got yourself some premium snake oil.

So let me save you some time by clarifying a few things about us up front, and you can decide if you'd like to keep scrolling.

What we're not:

We are not here to sell you an e-course. In fact, we aren’t trying to sell you anything (at least not at the moment)

We're not a "revolutionary new learning system." In fact, this sort of messaging should be a red flag to serious students determined to improve.

We are not pitching you a group learning scenario. We deal exclusively in 1-on-1 virtual lessons because there is no substitute for truly personalized mentorship.

Who we are:

We are professional guitarists and dedicated educators. We’re a small group— partly by design, but mostly because we hold our instructors to absurdly high standards.

We are a school, not a business. Unlike other learning platforms, we seek to enroll the RIGHT students, not the MOST students.

We work with highly motivated students at every levelApplicants are evaluated based on their potential to succeed in our program, not their current level of proficiency.

Our teaching philosophy:

No matter how modest or ambitious your goals, improving on guitar, while rewarding, is ALSO very demanding.

Programs that attempt to sugarcoat this with promises of shortcuts or "secret formulas" do a disservice to students by warping their expectations for the road ahead. Further, they assume zero confidence in students' resilience, work ethic, and raw ambition to succeed.

This is flat-out disempowering and, it's the main reason the vast majority of beginner guitarists quit before reaching basic competency. It's also what keeps intermediate to advanced players from reaching their full potential.

At WGA, we take our students seriously. This means if you are an aspiring professional, we will treat you accordingly by demanding more of you. But even if your dream is nothing more than strumming around a campfire, we (and you) must meet that goal with the proper respect if you wish to succeed.

Successful students understand that without challenge there is no growth. Really successful students not only accept this challenge, they embrace it–falling in love with the process instead of pining for the result.

If this sounds like you, we would be thrilled to speak with you and we invite you to apply.
